Troop Guide

Job Description:

To work actively with new Scouts in Troop 96. The Troop Guides introduce new Scouts to troop operations and helps them feel comfortable in the troop.

Reports to: Assistant Scoutmasters

Troop Guide duties:

bulletHelp new Scouts earn advancement requirements through First Class.
bulletAdvise Sr. patrol leader on his duties and responsibilities at Patrol Leaders' Council (PLC) meetings.
bulletAttend Patrol Leaders Council (PLC) meetings.
bulletIs the New Scout Patrol Leader.
bulletPrevent harassment of new Scouts by older Scouts.
bulletHelp Assistant Scoutmaster train new Scouts by older Scouts.
bulletGuide new Scouts through early troop experiences to help them become comfortable in the troop and the outdoors.
bulletTeach basic Scout skills.
bulletHave good attendance at Troop meeting.
bulletAttends at least 2/3 of the monthly events during his service period.
bulletSet a good example.
bulletEnthusiastically wear the Scout Uniform correctly.
bulletLive by the Scout Oath and Law.
bulletShow Scout spirit.
