Den Chief

Job Description:

The den chief works with the Cub Scouts, Webelos Scouts and den leaders in the Cub Scout pack.

Reports to: The den leader in the pack and the assistant Scoutmaster for the new Scout patrol in the troop.

Qualifications: Is an older Boy Scout or Venturer. Selected by the senior patrol leader and Scoutmaster at the request of the Cubmaster. Approved by the Cubmaster and pack committee for recommendation to the den leader. Registered as a youth member of a troop, team, or crew.

Den Chief duties:

bulletKnows the purposes of Cub Scouting.
bulletHelps Cub Scouts advance through Cub Scout ranks.
bulletEncourages Cub Scouts to join a Boy Scout troop upon graduation.
bulletAssists with activities in the den meetings.
bulletIs a friend to the boys in the den.
bulletHelps out at weekly den meetings and monthly pack meetings.
bulletMeets with adult members of the den, pack and troop as
necessary.
bulletHas good attendance at Troop meetings.
bulletAttends at least 2/3 of the monthly events during his service period.
bulletSet a good example.
bulletEnthusiastically wear the Scout Uniform correctly.
bulletLives by the Scout Oath and Law, as well as the OA Obligation.
bulletShow Scout spirit.
